Microbiology Module Exam for Master Biochemistry (Main Topic and Extension Topic)

18.12.2020

Microbiology Module Exam for Biochemistry Master (Main Topic and Extension Topic)

With regard to measures to prevent the further spread of SARS-CoV-2, all face-to-face courses and face-to-face examinations in the Faculty of Biology have been cancelled. At the same time, however, we would like to offer you the opportunity to make progress with your studies.

Therefore, the Microbiology Module Exam for Biochemistry Master during Winter term 2020/21 will exceptionally be divided into partial examinations (legal ground: Statutes of the Ludwig-Maximilian-University of Munich for the flexibilization of examinations in the summer term 2020 and the winter term 2020/21) as of 21.04.2020).
In the Summer term 2021 we will return to the regular module examination.

Winter term 2020/21

This procedure only applies to students who have attended all the necessary lectures for their entire module in the winter term 2020/21 and/or in the summer term 2020 and can thus obtain an overall module grade.
Students will receive a final grade for the whole module, after they have completed all 3 (Main Topic) or 2 partial (Extension Topic) examinations, respectively. All partial exams must be taken as one package in the winter term 2020/21. A package means that all partial exams are taken as 1st exam or all partial exams are taken as make-up exam in the winter term 2020/21.
The only way to improve the final grade for the module in the winter term 2020/21 is to retake the whole package of partial exams (i.e. all three or all two partial exams).

Students who have not participated in one of the partial exams do not receive a module grade and have to take a regular module examination during the summer term 2021.
All students who wish to take the module examination in the winter semester 2020/21 must

1. send an e-mail to the Microbiology Secretariat (sekretariat.mikrobiologie@lrz.uni-muenchen.de) with a list of the lectures they have attended.
and
2. if required, register for the respective partial examinations in LSF.

Courses, which are credible for the exams:

• Microbial Physiology and Synthetic Biology (Winter term 2020/21) H. Jung, J. Lassak

• Detection and analysis of biomolecules - Microscopy and spectroscopy in the life sciences (Winter term 2020/21) T. Cordes

• Einführung in die medizinische Mikrobiologie und Immunologie (Summer term 2020) H. Jung, E. Weiß

• Microbial Cell Biology (Summer term 2020) S. Brameyer, K. Jung, A. Klingl, K. Schubert

Please check for further information on the Moodle/LSF pages of the respective lecture.

Summer term 2021

In the Summer term 2021 we will return to the regular module examination. All students have to take one module exam, which will include the topics from all lectures they have attended, irrespective of when they attended the lectures.

All students who wish to take the module examination in the summer term 2021 must send an email to the Microbiology Secretariat (sekretariat.mikrobiologie@lrz.uni-muenchen.de) by end of May, listing the lectures they have attended.

They will then be informed in time of the examination date.

This also applies to students who have received a module grade in the Winter term 2020/21 and wish to improve their grade.
